What is a pocket nappy?

A pocket nappy does pretty much what it says on the tin! It's a cloth nappy with a pocket to place your absorbent material, usually inserts and boosters. It has a waterproof outer and a fleece inner, sewn together leaving one end open for your material to go in.

What is an All In One?

To be precise, there are All In Ones and All In Twos!

All In Ones are completely sewn together. The waterproof outer is sewn to the absorbent material making the nappy an All In One. These are the closest you will come to using a disposable as they are one whole piece to place on baby, but will take a little longer to dry.
All In Twos are not sewn together, so the absorbent material poppers to the waterproof outer, speeding up the drying process as all pieces of the nappy can be dried separately.

What is a 2 part system?

Basically 2 pieces of fabric to place on baby. The nappy and the wrap. You will find various names for the nappy including fitted, shaped and terry nappies. They are all the same in that they are not waterproof, instead the entire nappy is absorbent. Baby will eventually soak the nappy, bringing forward the need for the waterproof wrap. This form of nappying is extremely reliable as babies urine and soil has two layers of fabric to get through, making it almost bombproof!

What is a wrap?
Modern day wraps come in a huge variety of forms. I shall list here the most popular and their benefits.

PUL wraps - Polyurethane laminated fabric. A waterproof cover for your cloth nappy.
Fleece soakers/wraps - A cover for your cloth nappy made from fleece.
Wool wrap - A handknitted nappy cover for your cloth nappies

What else may I need?

An XL Wetbag for storing yours 2-3 days worth of nappies. Superior to a bucket and soaking, which is very old fashioned!
